Hollanders
not at Fespa 2010 Exhibition
Last
year, Hollanders Printing Systems (HPS) showed its colors at Fespa Digital '09
Amsterdam. During the show, HPS launched 3 new products: the all new
ColorBooster XL with flexible Seiko print head configuration, the infra-red
ColorFix XL and a dedicated ColorBooster carpet printer. Also on display were
the ColorWash roll-to-roll washing machine and ColorEdge textile cutter.
The
entire stand was decorated with textile print application examples, such as
flags, banners, carpets, cushions, back-lit panels, lamp shades and more. The
stand-girls were wearing promotional poly-satin dresses and visitors were all
impressed by the design of the stand.
This
year, HPS will take a different approach: they will not be at any show as an
exhibitor. Instead, they will run a permanent exhibition at the HPS Demo Center
in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The HPS
Demo Center – Dedicated Customer Approach
“At each
exhibition we speak with the people we know, and even then only for a very
short time per visitor. Companies that are seriously looking for a 'real'
solution, know us already and they rather come to Eindhoven for a personal
meeting where all details can be discussed, instead of looking at mere
marketing efforts at a show. ‘Being with HPS, experiencing what the equipment
does, makes the difference’: when asked, our customers all indicate to value
our personal approach more than a courtesy visit to an exhibition.”
“Therefore,
we have invested in a permanent demo facility in Eindhoven where we can
demonstrate the entire range of equipment, similarly as the customer would work
in reality, running real production and showing actual applications. We don't
just sell a printer, we provide a dedicated, integrated platform and we advise
with in-depth explanation. A traditional exhibition doesn't allow us to do
that. The permanent exhibition in the HPS Demo Center is much more effective
and is much more practical. It allows us to explain and show what textile
printing is all about, with hands-on demo runs, using customer specific files
and media.”
“So,
instead of spending an insane amount of time and money on a show, we chose to
spend it on our demo facility and to inviting people over. Instead of having
having all staff concentrate on running a show, we chose to spend it on
dedicated time for customers. More importantly, instead of increasing waste of
resources, we chose to limit our impact on the environment.”
Show
your Colors
HPS
continues its ‘Show your Colors’ initiative, where prospective customers can
send in their artwork or special colors and have it printed to show color gamut
and output quality. The goal of inviting people to come visit the HPS Demo
Center, is to be at the machine while dedicated prints are being produced.

The
Dutch Approach of Hollanders Printing Systems
HPS is
different. And HPS is textile. These two short phrases indicate how HPS
operates: contrary to most manufacturers in this market, HPS has started
not as
a printer manufacturer, but as a developer of textile print solutions.
Every
development cycle at HPS starts with exploring the requirements of a
process
and finding the right components to build an industrial product. And
every
development is with the textile requirements in mind.
In what
HPS does, it is unique. When working with textile and when the highest
quality
is to be combined with lowest cost of operation, there is only one way
to
control the entire process: it's to understand every little detail of
the
entire production flow; from printing and fixing to washing and cutting.
And
this is very different than using an existing printer and converting it
into
something that might also be able to print on textile.
For
years, HPS has worked with an ROI method based on true figures, not the
marketing information you may get from other manufacturers. At the end
of the
year, customers must be able to confirm that the economic model
presented by
HPS is right: lowest cost per square meter at the highest possible
quality.
Ever
since the founding of the company, HPS has minded the environment. The
USP's of
HPS equipment have always included least amount of resource waste,
whether it
be media, ink, electricity or water. HPS offers water based inks and its
systems allow for the least amount of misprints. With HPS, economy and
ecology
go hand in hand.
