At this year's SGIA show in Orlando, Florida, HPS has shown to the public that it delivers cost effective, high quality solutions that are suited for multi-purpose applications. For many, it was a real eye-opener to see that one dedicated textile printer could be used for various types of output. Not only is it possible to print onto flag and banner fabric, but in particular the carpet printing has been welcomed as an opportunity for sign makers.
In every sense it has been a good show. The HPS solutions had no problems operating in a high humidity, high temperature environment. Visitors witnessed how the HPS ColorBooster was running from show start to show end without any banding, bleeding, or technical problems. The built-in airconditioning system made sure the ColorBooster delivered as expected. For many visitors it was a first encounter with direct to fabric printing using disperse direct (not dye-sub) inks.
Best example was the booth carpet: literally all visitors were amazed by the penetration of ink and the quality of the artwork on the carpet. Where dye-sub transfer methods will generally penetrate to a maximum of 10-15%, the HPS method of disperse direct printing results to about 40-45% when printed with the backing affixed. Without backing, penetration can go up to 90-95%.
Another eye-opener for many was the 'before and after' example shown at the booth. This example clearly showed what the differences in crispness, penetration and color vibrancy between dye-sub and disperse direct are. This triggered many passers-by to stop and inquire about the benefits of the HPS solutions.
